THE BILLIONAIRE’S LEGACY Release Day + Desire Authors October Release Party

October 1, 2018 by ReeseRyan

Happy Monday, Dear Readers!

Finally, it’s release day for The Billionaire’s Legacy. I am so excited for you to read this story.
The Billionaire's Legacy by Reese Ryan

It was fun writing the banter between this couple, and Sloane is one of my favorite heroines that I’ve written to date. She’s strong, independent and funny with a good dose of Southern sass.

I loved watching Sloane & Benji fall in love as they navigated complicated family relationships and learned to care for their adorable twins Beau & Bailey.

Pick up your copy of The Billionaire’s Legacy today here or at your favorite retailer, then join me and five other Harlequin Desire authors for our October release party on the Harlequin Desire Author Facebook page later today from 5-8 PM Eastern. More on that in a sec! But first, here’s what reviewers are saying about The Billionaire’s Legacy:

“A wedding reception reunites a billionaire with his childhood crush in this captivating contemporary… With clever insight, vulnerability, and touching honesty, Ryan (Savannah’s Secrets) explores this couple’s hang-ups about family, trust, and intimacy.”
~
Publisher’s Weekly

“Ryan hits it out of the park with this compelling addition to the Billionaires and Babies series… Readers will avidly follow the twists, turns, and domestic drama that conspire to spoil the future happiness of these unintentional parents.”
~
Booklist

“Ryan was able to put a refreshing spin on the billionaire trope and I loved it so much! Benji and Sloane had been friends since childhood. Sloane is his older sisters best friend and I loved that spin on the story as well.”
~
Shelly’s Book Corner

Grab your copy of the book here. Need more convincing? Scroll below for an excerpt. 😉

***Six Authors, Six New Releases, Lots of Fun & Giveaways!***

A Steamy Excerpt from the Billionaire’s Legacy

The Billionaire's Legacy by Reese Ryan

He swallowed her gasp in response to the sudden move, kissing her harder. Losing himself in the clash of lips and tongue and the delicious sensation of their bodies moving against each other, desperate for more contact than their clothing would permit.

He savored her intoxicating scent and relished the feel of her full breasts with their hardened peaks pressed against his chest.

She glided her fingertips down his stomach and fumbled with his belt buckle, loosening it.

“You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for this,” he whispered, his lips brushing her ear.

Sloane’s hands froze. Her eyes opened and her gaze had shifted from one of intense desire to one of regret.

“Hey, beautiful.” Benji traced her cheekbone with his thumb. “Did I say something wrong?”

“I shouldn’t have come here, and we shouldn’t be doing this.” She lowered her gaze.

He was seconds away from making his boyhood fantasy a reality and he’d blown it, because he couldn’t keep his stupid mouth shut.

Way to go, Benj.

“Why not?” He spoke calmly, trying to put her at ease. “We’re consenting adults.”

“I’ve known you since you were five. You’re my best friend’s little brother. I’ve introduced you as my little brother.” She shook her head, her eyes still not meeting his. “This is bad. What would Delia say? And what would your parents think?”

“My mother will never believe anyone is good enough, and my sister adores you.” Benji dropped a slow, lingering kiss on her lips.

“Because I’m her friend, who she trusts not to blow into town and screw her little brother.” She jabbed him in the gut, but her lips parted to his tongue when he kissed her again.

“You’re too young for me, Benji,” she whispered against his lips as he slid the silky, blue material down her shoulder.

He kissed the shell of her ear. “Five years mattered then. It doesn’t now.”

“I’m not looking for a relationship, Benj.” She pressed her hands to his chest, halting his movement as her gaze met his. Still, she hadn’t moved an inch. Her legs framed his as she awaited his response.

“Neither am I,” he said finally. “That doesn’t mean we can’t be together. I want you, Sloane. And I know you want me, too.” He slowly tugged the zipper down her back. The silky, cobalt blue material slid from her shoulders, giving him better access. He trailed kisses down her shoulder and across the top of her breasts, exposed by a pale pink strapless bra. “Just for tonight.”

She sucked in a deep breath and let the material slip down her arms and pool around her waist. Sloane unbuttoned his pants and inched the zipper down. The sound echoed off the solid oak floors and shiplap walls. She leaned in to kiss him. “Just for tonight.”

Check Out These Romance Reader Events and Book Festivals Happening Across the Country!

Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

If you enjoy reading romantic fiction as much as I do, you could probably easily spend hours (or days) with your head buried in books, not speaking to a solitary soul. Writers of romance find themselves in a similar situation. Heads bent over the computer and fingers flying across the keys. Our heads buried in novels and craft books as much as our schedules will allow.

Reading and writing can be very solitary activities. However, in the last few years, I’ve discovered the joy of getting out and meeting other readers and writers–my tribe.

If you’re an avid reader of romance, they’re probably your tribe, too. A little more than a week ago I had the privilege of leading off a panel discussion on writing contemporary romance. The other participating authors? Talented and prolific authors Samantha Chase and Marquita Valentine. Yep, still pinching myself that I got to be counted with these two fabulous authors.

North Carolina authors Reese Ryan, Samantha Chase and Marquita Valentine

During the next month and beyond I’ll also be participating in several more reader events, listed below:

  • Celebrating Our Local Stars of Romance Fiction at the Barnes & Noble in Cary, North Carolina on Friday, April 21st at 7 PM
  • Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at the USC University Park Campus on April 22-23. I’m a panelist in the Romance: I’m Too Sexy for This Book conversation.
  • RT Booklovers Convention in Atlanta, Georgia from May 2-7
  • Make a Date with Harlequin Booksigning (at RT) on Thursday, May 4th at 8:30 – 9:45 AM
  • North Carolina Romance Writers Festival on May 28th from 2-5 PM
  • Lights! Camera! Action! Girls Night Out on August 25th 6 – 10 PM
  • Lights! Camera! Action! Arts Festival on August 26th 10 – 5 PM
  • Believable Characters / Secondary Characters Writers Workshop on October 14th 9 AM to 4PM — tentative date & time, Washington, NC

I’m thrilled to be participating in these events. In addition to booksignings there will be lively discussions about the romance genre and its impact on us as readers. So if you’re local to (or an easy drive from) one of these events, I hope you’ll come out and join us.

Join us on Friday, April 21st in Cary, NC to celebrate our wealth of local romance authors!

One more thing…

Thank you if you read Playing with Desire, Playing by the Rules or Baby Be Mine and were kind enough to leave a review. If you’ve enjoyed any of these stories and haven’t already, I’d love it if you’d leave an honest review on Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, iTunes or Harlequin. This helps other readers find them, too.

One last thing…

Next month I’ll be running my second quarter giveaway, and it’s going to be a good one, so stay tuned for that email in the coming weeks!

Happy Reading!

Connecting with My Tribe of Fellow Writers and Readers

September 17, 2016 by ReeseRyan

Writing is the perfect job for an introvert. Even one like me who often masquerades as an extrovert. Still, it is beneficial to get out in the world, meet new people, travel to new places and enjoy new experiences. All of which provide ideas for new stories.

Reese Ryan
Goofing off at Girls Night

Then, of course, there is the pure joy of connecting with your tribe–fellow writers and readers. Last weekend, I had the chance to do just that courtesy of Women and Words Impacting the Community–a fabulous reader event put on by Read You Later’s Lasheera Lee.

There were too many fabulous authors in attendance to name them all. However, the list of authors included fellow Kimani authors Nicki Night, Deborah Mello, Cheris Hodges and Kianna Alexander; Christian authors Jacquelin Thomas, Summer Kinnard, Cassandra Durham and Michelle Stimpson; Samantha Chase and historical authors Katharine Ashe and Beverly Jenkins.

I got to meet authors I’ve been a big fan of and was dying to meet like Beverly Jenkins (who I sat next to at Girls Night) and Deborah Mello. I also got to reconnect with some of my favorite authors like Kianna Alexander, Cheris Hodges, Iris Bolling, Summer Kinnard and Katharine Ashe. I had the privilege of meeting some wonderful readers and aspiring authors who I look forward to connecting with again.

If you missed this fabulous event, don’t worry, this was the sixth event Lasheera has done and she plans to do another. Connect with her on Facebook for a heads up on the next event. It was an energizing event that reminded me why the community of readers and writers are my people.

Happy reading,

PS: I know it looks like I took Ms. Bev hostage and forced her to take that picture, but I didn’t. I swear! (Okay, kinda sorta, but she was a great sport about it.)

Celebrating New Flames and Saying Goodbye to Old Habits

July 17, 2015 by ReeseRyan

Happy Friday!

Authors Reese Ryan and Cheris Hodges
Me and fellow Hot M.A.M.A. Cheris Hodges.

Hope the week has been good to you. Mine has been busy, with lots of unexpected monkey wrenches thrown into the works (like leaking radiators). But we’re making it work and finding a way to keep on smiling, despite what’s going on around me. Learning to stay positive even when the walls seem to be falling down around me is a trick I learned a few years ago. So much better than the woe-is-me approach, don’t you think?

I’m also feeling pretty good because today was the 28th day of my 30-day Yoga Challenge. I’m still on board and going strong. Loving it more each day. I’m feeling pretty good about making #YogaEveryDamnDay a habit and saying sayonara to the stop-and-start workout routine I normally follow. Healthy living here I come!

And I’m still on a high from my official initiation into the Hot M.A.M.A.s as a New Flame along with author Di Topaz. The ceremony happened during the Fly Hat Society Meet & Greet at the Greensboro Central Library this past Saturday. (Check out a few of the pictures below.) It was fantastic meeting new readers and the Hot M.A.M.A.s, the majority of whom I hadn’t met in person. The event was barely over before I was already excited for our next event in 2016. Stay tuned for news on where that will be and how you can be part of it by joining my VIP Reader mailing list here.

Speaking of my VIP Readers, it was great to welcome new readers onto the list who signed up at the Hot M.A.M.A event. I held a drawing for a cool journal and a bracelet and earring set. Reader Kay E. was the winner, pictured below in her absolutely fabulous fly hat.

If you weren’t able to join us at the live event, no worries. You can still enter to win a similar journal and a different handcrafted bracelet and earring set. Just join the list and complete the form below. For additional daily entries, be sure to share the love by spreading the news of the contest.

Stepping Outside the Lines (or in Pursuit of a Bigger Hat and a Smaller Butt)

July 10, 2015 by ReeseRyan

Hot M.A.M.A. Fly Hat Society Meet & Greet on July 11, 2015 in Greensboro, NC
Hot M.A.M.A. Fly Hat Society Meet & Greet on July 11, 2015 in Greensboro, NC

It’s been a busy week, my friends. All week (Okay, the last two days) I’ve been on the countdown getting ready for the Hot M.A.M.A.s Fly Hat Society Meet & Greet tomorrow in Greensboro, North Carolina.

I’ve been picking out an outfit, handcrafting jewelry and picking up a few other goodies for tomorrow’s giveaways. Most importantly, I was forced to buy a hat. Not just any hat, my friends. A big ass hat. The kind of hat that, under normal circumstances, this girl usually would never buy.

Not because I don’t like them. I admire the lovely hats worn by ladies attending the Kentucky Derby. And I acknowledge that women like the fantabulous Jeffe Kennedy and J-Lo (yep, still calling her that) look damned good in a big hat. But, to me, a big hat says, ‘Hey look at me. Aren’t I fabulous?’ Which works well when you are. (See Jeffe Kennedy and J-Lo.) I, on the other hand, typically prefer to go the you-didn’t-see-me-in-my-yoga-pants-and-I-didn’t-see-you route. So tomorrow’s occasion calls for me to step outside of my norm and go for it.

And I will. Really.

I dialed back the SUPER big hat. (Seriously, I couldn’t see in front of my face to walk. I may have stepped on a curious toddler.) I picked something that embodies the big hat spirit, but will allow me to see my feet when I walk. If not, I’ll have bruised shins, but damn I’ll look good.

Sinfully Sweet Handmade Jewelry giveaway.Speaking of looking good and venturing outside my norm…I’ve been known to hop onto a workout craze (complete with the expensive DVDs) only to fall off the wagon a few weeks later. So when I came across a 30 Day Yoga Challenge I was determined to take on the challenge and ride it out to the very end. Today makes 21 days of yoga officially in the books. Just nine more days to go.

I feel fitter and stronger in body and mind. So I have no plans to give up my daily practice once the challenge ends. That means I have nine days to create a plan to keep going with the #YogaEveryDamnDay movement.

In an earlier post, I mentioned that staying with the challenge prompted me to commit to blogging here each Friday. The yoga challenge prompted me to add another good habit. Sending out a regular newsletter to readers. Ideally, the first Friday of each month. So far I’m on track with all three challenges.

Let’s hope I add a few more good habits before it’s over, like writing every damn day.

In the meantime, here’s to bigger hats and smaller butts. Or whatever it is that your heart desires.

PS: If you can’t make the #FlyHatEvent, you can still win prizes. Enter below to win a cool journal and a bracelet and earring set handcrafted by moi.

Smooches!
